ClubHost prize — best recap and best theme execution, voted by club pros. After the week, share photos and a short note. Tell us what actually won at dinner.

Kentucky Derby

Hats at the first tee, roses on the tables, mint at the turn. Clubs that land this one treat Saturday dinner as half the week — not an afterthought. Keep the course itself quiet so the look doesn’t fight the golf.

Luau

Leis at the shotgun, island shirts, a pig roast if the patio can take it. The gift can be small if the food is right. Shade and water matter more than tiki décor on a hot afternoon.

Black-tie

Dinner is the event. Dark room, a real band or none, trophies on a dressed table. On the course: clean pairings, no costume. Guests remember the room more than the shirt.

Military tribute

Colors, a quiet tone, protocol done correctly. Get a member who knows the service to review the program. This one fails when it gets loud or cute.

Western

Boots, barbecue, a band if the patio can hold it. Easy on the plastic cactus. A good brisket and a clean scoreboard beat a costume contest.

Masters week

Green jackets, pimento, azaleas if you can swing them. Keep the nods small and the golf serious. The field already knows the real thing — don’t overplay it.

Patriotic

A July date, flags on 18, a sincere program. Works when it’s brief and specific. Skip the merch pile; one good flag on the last green is enough.

Roaring ’20s

Gatsby dinner, pearls, a jazz trio. The course can stay ordinary. Spend the budget on the room and the photo at the door — that’s the recap people send.

Caddyshack

Bushwood energy. Funny, not sloppy. A gopher on a sign is plenty. Keep the rules sheet straight so the jokes stay at dinner and not on the first tee.

Par Wars

Star Wars night — lightsaber trophies if you must, galaxy names on the flights. Keep it tasteful. The clubs that do this well pick one visual and stop.
